Summer Fun

I am currently loving summer days! I try to find something fun to do each day basically so that I'm not stuck at home. Lately it has been doing things outside since the weather is finally great. Today I took Mil with my sister and her girls to the pool for the first time. I think she liked it 'cause she was splashing around and kicking her legs - she was probably thinking it was a giant bathtub! She loves to watch other kids, so she was perfectly content sitting on my lap on the steps of the pool, probably watching Lexi the whole time!

These are just some pics from today's outing:

PS - So I totally had a "Rookie Mom" experience at the pool. When I went to the Splash park on Monday I took Millie in a swim diaper just to try it out, even though she didn't even have on a swim suit. Well right when we were about to leave, I started getting wet on my shirt and was no where near any water, and I looked down from where I was holding Mil and that's where it was coming from - she peed and the dang diaper didn't work. So then when I got her ready to go to the swimming pool, in my head I was thinking she's too young I guess for the swim diaper, so I kept her in her normal one. When we got to the pool I saw a sign that said "All kids under 3 years of age must be wearing a swim diaper" which of course Millie wasn't. I sneaked her past the people at the window hoping they wouldn't notice white under her suit instead of blue! My sister then had to educate me that when you're submersing them in water, you need the swim diaper to keep everything in the diaper contained, but if they just get a little wet (like at a splash park), then a normal diaper is fine. Sorry kids, I'm pretty sure Millie peed at one point or another while we were in the pool!!!

thank you for having that 'rookie mom' moment, so funny! i'll save you from another- if you ever use tanning lotion, you know, the kind that stings, make sure you wash it off before holding (or in my case nursing) a newborn... they don't like it too much :).

Hadley peed on Kiley last week when we were swimming! Those dang swim diapers. They work great while in the water but once they are out of the pool . . . they are pretty worthless!

The pictures of Millie are adorable. She's getting so big. I need to see her. :)

Don't worry, I pee in the pool and im 25! He he just kidding. Do you like the sign that says, "we don't swim in your toilet, so please don't pee in our pool" that is my favorite! Good story, you have educated me now!

These pictures are way cute! That is funny about the swim diaper. I wouldn't worry too much though because I am sure many other kids were peeing in the pool too.
